Emi Sunshine Band
On November 4th, Emi Sunshine will be having a concert at Pebble Hill from 7:30-10:00 p.m. Advance Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Spicer’s Music, Ross House Coffee, and online at sundillamusic.com. Tickets can also be purchased at the door for $25. Weather permitting the concert will be held outdoors,so be prepared with a chair and a blanket. Emi has had several appearances on television shows such as “The Today Show” and “Little Big Shots.” In 2018, she was featured in the Elvis documentary film “The King” with several other stars. At only 15, Emi has accomplished things many of us only dream of, so come out and support her on her journey.
O Grows Farmer’s Market
The O Grows Farmer’s Market will be held every Saturday this fall from 9 a.m.-noon on Glenn Street in Opelika. Growers, bakers, and artisans attend every week to serve their fresh and local products to fellow community members. There are also other workshops and educational activities offered. Check them out on Instagram and Facebook to learn more about them (and their cute goats).
Ingrid Andress with Georgia Webster
The Gogue Performing Arts Center will host Ingrid Andress accompanied by Georgia Webster on November 6 from 7:30-10:00 p.m. Ingrid is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and is on the rise in country music. She has collaborated with several individuals and even performed with Tim McGraw and Thomas Rhett. This fall she will be on tour with Dan+Shay, so be sure to check her out.
Walk to End Alzheimer’s
The Alzheimer’s Association will be hosting the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on November 7
on the Green Space at Jordan Hare Stadium. Registration for the event begins at noon, followed by the ceremony at 1:30 p.m. and the walk at 2 p.m. To walk, you do need to be registered; there is no fee for walking, but a donation is strongly encouraged. The money raised at this event will be used in the fight against Alzheimer’s.
Football, Fans, and Feathers
This event will take place during November on the 12 and 26, the day before the home football games. During the hour-long show, birds of prey are free flown around the amphitheater allowing spectators to see them flying up close. The audience will also learn facts about the birds and their rehabilitation at the raptor center. Tickets for this event are $8 and can be purchased in advance.
Come Home to the Corner
Each Friday evening before a home football game, the Auburn Downtown Merchants Association hosts Come Home to the Corner. This is a free event with live music and extended shopping hours at some of your favorite downtown stores. The live entertainment is present 6-9 p.m. and is sure to be a great start to your weekend.
Rising Gardens Community Market
The Rising Gardens Community Market is held year-round on the third Sunday of every month. This month it will take place on November 21 from 2-5 p.m on East Drake Avenue at the Auburn Montessori School. Stop by to shop for fresh produce and other goods from community members. There is also live music and other activities that bring a community feel to the market.
Sno*Pelika Christmas Festival and Tree Lighting Event
Tuesday, November 30, will be the official kickoff to the Christmas season in Opelika. Starting at 4:30 p.m. on Courthouse Square, the free event with a tree lighting and artificial snowfall will begin. There will also be local businesses and vendors participating in the event. The Opelika High School marching band will make an appearance as well as Mayor Fuller and the City Council. Let this be the exciting beginning to your Christmas season!
